The Hatters first entered the FA cup in 1892, reaching the first round the following year and gaining entry to the Football League in 1901 in the old second division, which over a century later is the highest level the club have played at, their last season there ending in 2002, since when they have been in the lower divisions. Their greatest cup moment remains the defeat of Queen's Park Rangers in 1994.
