The Giant Killers

Every F A cup slaying since 1888

Football has been played in Stevenage since the 1890s but it was only the emergence of Stevenage Borough that put the town on the F A cup map. The original Stevenage Athletic club folded in 1976, though, as is often the case, They were almost instantly replaced with a new club under the name Stevenage Borough. The new team quickly rose up thRemove Linke footballing ranks and first made cup headlines in a third round tie against Newcastle in 1998 that had the two clubs at each other's throats. Stevenage lost on that occasion but revenge was found thirteen years later, by which time they had made it to The fourth tier of the Football League for the first time in 2010.
