The Giant Killers
GLOSSOP NORTH END
Glossop North End have been around in one form or another since 1886, their glory days being the turn of the Twentieth Century when they played a solitary season among the elite. Sadly they were unable to maintain those heights and by 1915 they were voted out of the Football League, opting to disband rather than play in wartime regional football. The club were reformed after the war but have spent the years since in the lower echelons of English Football, today playing in the ninth level of the game in the North west Counties League. In the cup they enjoyed one great run to the quarter finals in 1909 sending Sheffield Wednesday packing along the way.
