The Giant Killers
BLACKBURN ROVERS
One of the real giants of the game whose cup exploits predate the formation of the League, Rovers have lifted the trophy in 1884, '85 '86, '90, '91 and most recently when Jack Roscamp's late goal ended any hope of a Huddersfield fight back in 1928. They were founder members of the League, being crowned Champions in 1912, '14 and '95 and were also jointly the last of the original members to lose their unbroken top tier status when finally relegated for the first time with Aston Villa in the thirties. Their time in the second tier and a short spell in the third tier in the early seventies has afforded them some oppotunities for minor giant killings, None sweeter than the defeat of local rivals Burnley in 1952.
